The volunteer programs are based in Levanto    with some trips to sites like Kuelap (largest building structure of the Americas),  hiking Inca roads to investigate Inca engineering methods & techniques, and Gocta waterfall (over twice as high as the Eiffel Tower) are included.  Levanto was the major city of the mysterious Cloud People. There are close ruins near the project from 1 to 2 hours hiking.  Also the Inca Road is accessible from Levanto to Chachapoyas and the Yalape ruins are located in Levanto. 

These volunteer programs are open all year and are designed for cleaning the access to the ruins, doing maintance work on one of Peru's best un-restored Inca roads, saving endangered hummingbirds by planting specific flowers in the main plaza and at the Levanto Lodge; or  they might prefer documenting varieties of medicine plants, birds, & orchids. We have a biologist and a tourist administrator from the University of San Marcos living permanently in Chachapoyas and they are leading the programs along with professionals in the area, the community, and its people.

Teaching English classes to the children of Levanto after school hours:  This particular program will be with the school of Levanto, located in the main plaza,  and the school of Colla Cruz located just a few blocks from the main plaza.

The volunteer programs cover almost all expenses including the internal flights to the area and the public transportation from Chiclayo to Chachapoyas.  Some meals out of this zone are not included.  All donations like clothes, school supplies, etc are welcome for the children of Levanto.

Sponsor a Levantino friend or several friends to visit Kuelap fortress for the first time in their lives.  It is incredible but the people of Levanto can see the Fortress Kuelap from Levanto but never had the opportunity to visit.  You can make dreams can true by taking a Levanto friend with you by an cost the day you visit Kuelap.
